Led by an experienced community of physicians, Cottage Health Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs are marked by an environment of collegiality and teamwork. In 2023, 100 percent of Cottage residents passed their board examinations.
Collaboration among residents and faculty encourages a flexibility designed to meet the individual needs and interests of every resident. At Cottage, residents are treated with respect and encouraged to maintain a balanced life—enabling residents to reach their full potential as physicians.

Diagnostic Radiology
An advanced four-year, ACGME-accredited program (PGY-2 to PGY-5) after completion of a one-year ACGME-accredited internship. We are an ACGME-approved program offering early specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR).

A five-year program, approved by the ACMGE, The American Board of Surgery and the American College of Surgeons through its Residency Review Committee. The program matches four categorical general surgery residents per year.

Internal Medicine
A three-year program, approved by the ACGME and authorized by the Council to provide training as preparation for certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine. All inpatient rotations take place at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

A three-year program approved by the ACGME, Cottage Children's Medical Center is a community-based hospital with an emphasis on caring for the underserved. Services include a NICU, PICU, Acute, Trauma and specialty care services.
