Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Cancer Program

Our inpatient Adult Oncology Unit is dedicated to providing total quality care for the cancer patient. Our patients are cared for by a cancer team made up of physicians and clinicians from medical and radiation oncology and specialists from diagnostic radiology, surgery, urology, gynecology, and nuclear medicine.

To ensure the continuity of care for our patients, Cottage Health also works with other cancer treatment programs in the area including the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center with Sansum Clinic and area physicians.

Our patients are like an extended family, and our nurses and staff strive to create a comfortable environment that meets the needs of the cancer patient.

Patient education is a major focus of the floor and the nursing staff is especially proud of the unit's excellent physician-nurse collaboration that exists to ensure that the needs of the cancer patient and their families are being met every day.

Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Cancer Program

Residents in Santa Ynez Valley do not have to go far for quality, caring, cancer treatment. Most of the treatments at Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital are on an outpatient basis.

Cottage Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology

Cottage Children’s Hospital has a team of specialists who focus solely on pediatric cancer care.

Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Breast Care Center

Our supportive staff at the Breast Care Center at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital will answer your breast health questions and provide you with the health resources you need.

Accreditation

Since 1976, the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) has recognized Cottage Health's commitment to the treatment of cancer, accrediting Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital's program for the quality of its services as a teaching hospital cancer program. We are very proud to be among the 25% of cancer programs in the United States that are ACOS-accredited. As an ACOS-accredited cancer program, Cottage Health has access to national cancer information and the ability to collect and compare the treatment results of Cottage Health patients with those of patients at other cancer centers. It also gives the hospital's cancer team members and staff physicians the ability to increase their knowledge of new diagnostic techniques and treatments of cancer and constantly improve the scope and quality of care offered to our patients.

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital was reaccredited in 2023 by ACOS for a three-year term.

Cottage Health's team of doctors, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, physical therapists, and clergy recognizes the diversity and uniqueness of every person, especially those who are facing cancer. We are committed to offering support and comfort to the body, the mind, and the spirit. If you participate in other modalities and complementary therapies we encourage you to be open with your physician about these therapies and discuss them with your caregivers.
