Favorite things to do in Santa Barbara: There are so many family-friendly things to do here in Santa Barbara! It's a wonderful place to live with my husband and two kids. On the weekends, I like to take my kids to the zoo, aquarium, museum of natural history, beach, and the Moxi (an interactive science center). Santa Barbara has both a small-town feel and great cultural amenities.
Favorite part of training in Pediatrics at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital: I love that I've been able to get to know everyone quickly since it's a small community. The learning environment is very supportive. I feel truly welcomed as a resident with kids and that I am receiving high-quality training and education while also having time with my family. There is also a strong sense of dedication and love for the community that we serve.

Sonia Shenoi, DO

Hometown: San Marino, CA
Undergraduate:
Scripps College of the Claremont Consortium
Medical School: Touro University of California
Medical Career Interests: I've wanted to be a pediatrician just like my own since I was 7 years old, and I'm excited to see where residency takes me!
Favorite things to do in Santa Barbara: I commute from over an hour away, which is very doable, as half my class commutes! The Farmers Markets in Camarillo, Oxnard and Ventura are equally outstanding. My fiancé and I also love exploring wineries in Santa Barbara and Ojai and taking weekend trips to Yosemite.
Favorite part of training in Pediatrics at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital: I love serving a diverse population -- many of my patients speak Spanish and I love being able to connect with them in their native tongue.
