David Tsai, MD
Dr. Tsai grew up in Irvine, California, and attended the University of California, Irvine where he majored in neurobiology with an interest in psychology and minored in management. After undergraduate studies, he took a year off to run a volunteer program that exposed students to the field of medicine and patient care. Dr. Tsai attended Albany Medical College in upstate New York and chose to pursue a career in pediatrics.
Dr. Tsai completed his residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles in general pediatrics. During this time, he developed a love for endocrine pathways and diabetes and used the institution’s robust medical records to assess and improve the use of diabetes technologies within the Southern California region.
Dr. Tsai continued to pursue his passion for pediatric endocrinology and technology by joining CHLA in 2017 for a three-year fellowship, where he explored better ways of helping children and their families overcome psychological barriers associated with type 1 diabetes and other chronic endocrine disorders.
