Lynn Fitzgibbons, MD, FIDSA
Dr. Fitzgibbons is the Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and holds academic appointments at USC Keck School of Medicine and UC Santa Barbara. She works as an Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine inpatient teaching attending at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and is the Infectious Disease physician at the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, where she was previously Deputy Health Officer.

Lisa Singh, MD
Dr. Lisa Singh is an Associate Program Director and the Director of Procedural Education at SBCH, with a focus on using point of care ultrasound (POCUS) for clinical decision making and bedside procedures. She is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine and holds an academic appointment at USC-Keck School of Medicine.

Thad Bordofsky, MD
Dr. Thad Bordofsky is Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. A Clinical Professor of Medicine at Keck-USC School of Medicine, Dr. Bordofsky has particular interests in the care of underserved populations, and both humanistic and evidence-based medicine. He is the residency champion for preparation for the ABIM exam as the lead of the Academic Wednesday conference series, Journal Readers Club and In-training Exam review.

Natalie Achamallah, MD, MS, MA
Dr. Natalie Achamallah is the Director of Critical Care Education for the Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, a Clinical Assistant Professor at USC Keck School of Medicine, and a practicing intensivist and pulmonologist. She joined the faculty in 2022.

Maya Antony, MD, MPH, FACP
Dr. Maya Antony is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and has a Master’s in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. She has been a core faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency program at Cottage hospital since 2010 and is the Co-Associate Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Education.

Mark Bookspan, MD
Dr. Bookspan is Director of Internal Medicine Education. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and has been the Director of the Arthritis Clinic at the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department for the past 43 years. Dr. Bookspan has been involved with the teaching program since 1978. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Keck-USC School of Medicine.

Jeffrey Fried, MD, FCCM, FCCP
Dr. Fried is our Emeritus Director of Critical Care Medicine for the Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He did his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at LA County-USC Medical Center, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.

Steve Hosea, MD
Dr. Steve Hosea is a Clinical Professor of Medicine with the Keck USC School of Medicine, the Director of Clinical Education for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Cottage Health, and the lead attending for the program’s daily Morning Report. Dr. Hosea describes his passion as, “being the best teacher that I can be and I consider the success of every single resident to be my most important motivation”.

Lindsay Katona, DO, MPH
Dr. Lindsay Katona is the Director of Research and Quality for the Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. In addition to her time on the wards, she supervises residents in research projects, submission of abstracts and other academic pursuits. She also orchestrates the Introduction to Quality Rotation for 2nd year residents. Her interests include global health, underserved medicine and quality improvement. Outside of her work with medical residents at Cottage, she is involved with Cottage’s Center for Population Health and the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, where she serves a Deputy Health Officer.

Jared Perrin, MD, FACP, DipABLM
Dr. Perrin is the Co-Associate Medical Director of Ambulatory Care Education. His goal is to provide high quality evidence-based care to the underserved population of Santa Barbara County. Medical education is an important and meaningful part of his work. He works closely with the residents to facilitate the growth of knowledge and artistry needed to provide whole person patient centered care.

Kim Geller
Kim is the Graduate Medical Education and Internal Medicine Coordinator who joined Cottage Health in 2017. She brings a passion and focus for streamlining processes and improving existing practices and systems using her over 20 years of experience in the education administration field and her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior.
