Diagnostic Radiology Residency Externships

Four-week externships are available to fourth-year US medical and osteopathic medical students.

Application Process

**The Diagnostic Radiology Externship Program for 2024 AY is now full.  We will begin to accept applications for 2025-2026 in February of 2025**

  1. Complete an application form.
  2. E-mail the completed application to Selena Kelley at skelley@sbch.org. Do not contact your school for any documentation until you are actually approved for a rotation.
  3. Once the application has been submitted, you can anticipate a response regarding whether or not you have been accepted for a radiology rotation within 10-15 working days.

Housing

Housing is available free of charge for one month, but is subject to availability. Housing is reserved on a first-come first-served basis, at the time of receipt of the extern’s application. If housing is not available for the rotation dates requested, the extern must secure his or her own housing.

Resources

The SAGE Medical Library is an excellent medical library with free copying and computer privileges for residents and students.

Evaluation

Performance will be submitted to the Dean of the extern’s medical school following completion of the externship.
