Listening Tour
Listening Tour Video
This video summarizes what we learned from the Listening Tour sessions.
Cottage Health and its partners identified a need for a deeper understanding of behavioral health in our community. To facilitate this, we started by listening -- to those who work on the front lines of health and community members from diverse backgrounds.
The thoughts and perspectives shared during the Listening Tour gave insight into the behavioral health needs and inequities across the county and opportunities to improve behavioral health outcomes.
This process was designed to glean key insights across the broader population and among those most vulnerable in the community. Conducted with the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment, the Listening Tour included more than twenty focus groups and interviews with health providers, nonprofit workers, educators, government leaders, and members of the community.

In addition, more than sixty participants responded to a follow-up survey that provided feedback and helped prioritize health needs identified during the Listening Tour. A full summary of the methods, participants, and findings can be found in the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessments Report.
During the Listening Tour, we heard the voices of our community members, especially the most vulnerable. These conversations helped to identify and prioritize the most important behavioral health concerns in specific areas, partner with appropriate nonprofits who share that vision, and implement plans that will have the greatest impact.
