Cottage OB/GYN Clinic Providers

Lisa A. Lepine, MD, Medical Director

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Lisa Lepine has nearly 30 years of medical experience and serves as the medical director of the Cottage Ob/Gyn Clinic. She has held faculty positions at The University of Washington and Emory University, where she served as the gynecologic consultant to the Women’s Health Initiative, the largest multi-center US study on menopause to date. She is a North American Menopause Society certified menopause practitioner.

Dr. Lepine received her bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish Literature from Pomona College Claremont, California. She attended the University of California San Diego for medical school and completed her residency there as well. She participated in a public health fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and has done international work in several African and South American countries.

Dr. Lepine speaks English and Spanish.

Heather Merrick, MPA, Physician Assistant

Heather Merrick is a certified and licensed physician assistant with more than 20 years of experience providing care in the Santa Barbara area. She has specialized training with da Vinci robotic surgical technology and graduated with high honors from Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine.

Maribeth Claassen, CNM, WHNP, Nurse Midwife

Maribeth Claassen holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and is a certified Midwife with over a decade of experience. Her training includes a fellowship in midwifery and training as a breastfeeding resource nurse. She is fluent in English and French and has proficiency in medical Spanish.
