The Gary M. Hock Family Patient Care Simulation Center’s mission is to enhance healthcare delivery within Cottage Health by providing leadership in the use of simulation technologies to facilitate interprofessional collaborative practice, provide quality education and apply evidence based practice in order to improve patient safety and outcomes.
Our vision is to empower all members of the interprofessional healthcare team to provide safe patient centered, quality care using simulation technology.
The Gary M. Hock Family Patient Care Simulation Center provides clinical and discussion based simulation to physicians, nurses and other clinical healthcare professionals. State of the art manikin and audiovisual equipment allow patient scenarios to be recreated, providing clinicians with a realistic experience.
Standardized Participants, volunteers, also participate in the role of patients and their families in order to provide more realism to a simulation when needed. The Simulation Center currently has 30 specialized simulation programs that are offered to Cottage Health employees.
