How many resident positions are available?

For the 2024-2025 residency year, 2 positions are available.

What are core rotations & how long do they last?

Each rotation is a month in length. All PGY1 residents must complete the following required rotations:

  • Orientation
  • Critical Care
  • Infectious Disease/Antimicrobial Stewardship
  • Internal Medicine I and II
  • Pharmacy Leadership
  • Research

What are the elective rotations that are offered?

All PGY1 residents may select the following elective rotations:

  • Any required rotation may be repeated
  • Ambulatory Care
  • Emergency Department
  • Oncology
  • Medical ICU
  • Medication Use Policy and Safety
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry
  • Surgical ICU

Are there teaching opportunities and with what college of pharmacy?

The University of the Pacific - Pharmacy Teaching Program (PTP) is mandatory for PGY1 residents. This practice-based program is based on ASHP residency standards and consists of seminars, classroom teaching experience, precepting experience, and developing a teaching portfolio.

The primary goal of the PTP is to develop, through practice, the participants’ skills required to function in an academic setting. Specific requirements for completing the PTP will be made available to the resident at the beginning of the residency year.

When does the program begin?

For the 2024-2025 residency year, the program will begin on July 1, 2024.
