Clinical Laboratory Scientist Training Program
The Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital School of Clinical Laboratory Science instructs students in both the theory and clinical application of laboratory tests through the Clinical Lab Scientist Training Program. Accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences and the State of California, the School of Clinical Laboratory Science prepares students to take the certification exams given by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry and National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel.
Upon successfully passing either certification exam, students are then eligible to apply for licensure through the State of California or be nationally certified.
Students receive a certificate upon successful completion of the program. The granting of this certificate is not contingent upon the student passing any type of external certification or licensing exam.

- Training Period: 12 months

- Class Size: Up to 3 students per start date

Admissions
Application deadline is February 1, all application documents must be received by this date. Students will be selected in March for the Fall class and the Spring class of the following year.
