Clinical Highlights:
I am a Harvard trained, board certified neurosurgeon with a primary focus on vascular disease and tumors of the brain and spine. My comprehensive expertise also encompasses spine surgery, trauma, surgery for trigeminal neuralgia, among other conditions. I have the training, experience, and capability to perform the most complex cases utilizing techniques such as cerebrovascular bypass, flow diverting stents, liquid embolic agents, and intrasaccular devices. I strive to deliver a state of the art, evidence based practice for my patients in the catheterization lab, the operating room, and during focused radiation treatments.
Throughout my career, I have successfully treated over 500 brain aneurysms and 500 life threatening ischemic strokes using minimally invasive, image guided approaches. Additionally, I have provided non-invasive care to hundreds of patients with tumors, vascular disorders, and functional disorders through advanced photon and proton radiosurgery. My dedication to patient centered care, combined with extensive experience and cutting edge techniques, ensures the highest standard of neurosurgical services for those in need.
Research:
As both a journal reviewer for top publications like Lancet Neurology, American Journal of Human Genetics, Neurosurgery, and JAMA Surgery, and an author of over 160 peer reviewed articles, I bring a broad perspective to the field of neurosurgery. As a reviewer, I evaluate cutting edge research from fellow professionals, while as an author, I actively contribute my own findings to advance neurosurgical and cerebrovascular treatments. My published work covers a range of topics, including advancements in aneurysm treatments, detailed mapping of human brain vasculature, and innovations in flow diversion techniques for aneurysms. In addition, my research explores areas like neuromodulation, neuroprotective strategies in stroke, and surgical innovations such as radial artery access devices. Alongside peer reviewed articles, I have contributed several book chapters, focusing on the latest techniques in cerebrovascular surgery and the management of complex neurosurgical conditions, furthering the evolution of patient care and surgical practice.
