This in-person class will help prepare expectant families for the challenges they will face as new parents. Our class is appropriate for all types of families and will help new parents gain the confidence they need to care for their baby in these early stages. It is recommended that this course be taken about 2-3 months before your due date.
After this course, learners will be able to:
- List some of the challenges of new parenthood
- Verbalize coping mechanisms and identify support in the community
- Verbalize some of the expected physiological changes in the post-partum period
- List six things they can do to calm their newborn
We recommend that you take this class in addition to a Prepared Childbirth class and a Breastfeeding class.
